Financial Aid

The Conducting Institute offers financial aid in order to increase accessibility for students who might not otherwise be able to participate in our programs.

We have two scholarship funds set up for this purpose:

The Conducting Institute Scholarship Fund is supported by the generosity of individual donors. Scholarships and financial aid from this fund are determined based on the total number of applicants per program, and each applicant’s financial need.

The Laura Bruton Scholarship Fund was established with seed funding from the Voirin Foundation and contributions from individuals. With this fund we honor the memory of Laura Bruton, former principal violist for the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, who lost a battle with ovarian cancer in 2019. The Laura Bruton Scholarship Fund awards a $1,000 scholarship per year to at least one conducting student attending the Summer Orchestral Conducting Institute. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of financial need, personal statement, demonstrated potential and leadership qualities.

To apply for financial aid for our programs, please indicate in your application that you would like to apply, and you will receive a separate application.
