Laboratory Orchestra Fellowships

The Conducting Institute Laboratory Orchestra is a learning ensemble for conductors and orchestra musicians who participate in The Institute’s workshops.

Podium time in front of a live ensemble is a key component of the knowledge and skills conductors need to become self-sufficient, prepared musical leaders. In addition to providing a service to participating conductors, Lab Orchestra Fellowships present an opportunity for orchestra musicians to work in an intense, professionally oriented environment and expand their deep knowledge of select orchestral repertoire.

If selected for the Lab Orchestra Fellowship, it is the expectation that Fellows come to sessions with repertoire fully learned.
